LNHS SGC officers and members take oath
The officers and members of the School Governing Council (SGC) of Ligao National High School (LNHS) formally took their oath last Friday, August 24, 2012 at the school gymnasium. Atty. Lyn A. Caramoan, Clerk of Court of the RTC Branch 12 in Ligao City, was the administering officer.
LNHS SGC is chaired by Pastor Modesto E. Preña. Other officers are: Marlene M. Nobleza, vice-chair; Angelina R. Chan, secretary; Josefina C. Peape, treasurer; Carlo Magno M. Pamorada, auditor; and Gina R. Balingbing, P.I.O. Mrs. Carmelita A. Sinson, SSP III of LNHS is the council’s chief executive officer. The following are the members: Emma M. Valenciano, Brgy. Captain Jose Romano, Pastor Melchor Buenaflor, Engr. Gerry Palmiano, Mrs. Arlene Cenita, Jose Abraham L. Consuelo, Sheena Mae Bobier, Denise June Castor, PO1 Yumie Barante and SPO1 Rosendo Ponan.
The oath-taking ceremony was held alongside GPTA induction and the culminating activity of second year students.

LNHS convenes stakeholders nominated to SGC
Taking advantage of the summer vacation, Ligao National High School convened its internal and external stakeholders for an orientation meeting on School Governing Council (SGC) last May 4, 2012 at the school's computer laboratory room. During the meeting, Mrs. Carmelita A. Sinson, Secondary School Principal III of LNHS explained the rationale and purposes of organizing SGC. The following stakeholders attended the said meeting:
1. Emma M. Valenciano, Chief, Parole and Probation Office
2. Marlene M. Nobleza, Parent Representative
3. Atty. Esmeralda H. Paco, Associate Prosecution Attorney, Office of the City Prosecution
4. Ma. Gina R. Balingbing, President, LNHS Alumni Association
5. Mrs. Josefina C. Peape, Retired LNHS faculty
6. Pastor Modesto E. Preña, Jr., Religious sector, Current SGC Chairman
7. Celestino de la Torre, Barangay Kagawad, Guilid, Ligao City
8. Mrs. Angelina R. Chan, Prefect of Discipline, LNHS
9. Mr. Carlo Magno M. Pamorada, President, LNHS Faculty Club
10. PO1 Yumie R. Barante, Ligao PNP

Stakeholders discussed various problems and issues confronting LNHS students ranging from discipline, smoking, immorality, to illegal drugs. After the discussion, they have suggested several programs such as symposium, open forum for parents and teachers, students' forum or dialogue, spiritual activities and small group sessions for students with common problems.
The stakeholders' orientation meeting on SGC was organized by Elwood L. Prias, the assigned SGC coordinator.
